Puppyhood is full of joy, chaos, zoomies, and so many questions. That’s where we come in. Free to Be Dog is teaming up with Urban Pet Co to bring you a down-to-earth, community-centered Puppy Class — right in the heart of downtown Southern Pines.
This isn’t a stuffy obedience class. It’s a space to learn, laugh, and grow together while helping your pup become a confident, happy member of the community.
We’ll cover all the good stuff — like:
🐾 Biting that actually stops. Because your hands, ankles, and favorite slippers deserve a break.
🐾 Potty training without the panic. Accidents happen — but they don’t have to happen forever. We’ll show you how to set your pup up for success.
🐾 Confidence around new sights, sounds, and people. Because a well-socialized puppy grows into a calm, happy adult dog.
🐾 Listening the first time you ask. No yelling, no frustration — just communication that works.
🐾 Professional advice on puppy "uh-ohs" so you can ditch the midnight Google sessions.
🐾 You’ll meet other local puppy parents, share stories, and cheer each other on as your pups learn to navigate the big, wide world — one tail wag at a time.

Requirements:

Puppies should be settled into their home for at least 7 days before beginning class.

Puppies must begin class at or before 16 weeks of age.

Puppies should have received a minimum of one dose of DAPP (distemper) and Bordetella before attending class.
What if my puppy isn't fully vaccinated yet?
The American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior states that "Behavioral issues, not infectious diseases, are the number one cause of death for dogs under three years of age."
Because of this, AVSAB recommends that puppies receive such socialization before they are fully vaccinated.
Not to worry though—we work hard to ensure our classes are clean and safe; prioritizing your puppy's physical and behavioral health.
CLASS DATES & ENROLLMENT
You choose your start date.
Enrollment includes four consecutive class dates from your chosen start date.
